About Takisha
Takisha moved to Greensboro, NC in 2016 from her hometown of Southern Maryland, looking for a change of pace. What she found was the Guilford College Chemistry Department, whose Integrated Research Lab course helped awaken Takisha’s love for chemistry and research. After doing a semester each of research on a rhodium paddlewheel catalyst, followed by an independent study focusing on utilizing chemiluminescence for detecting metals in tap water, Takisha decided that her favorite place to be was performing research in a laboratory setting. Other than research, Takisha enjoys playing video games in various forms, attending comic book conventions, going to the beach, and hiking with her husband, DJ, and dog, Logan.
